Report on Humane Methods of Goose Control

The Coalition is pleased to offer the report entitled,

Non-Lethal Controls for "Resident" Canada Geese

Prepared by the Rockland County Executive Committee
of the Canada Geese Citizens' Advisory Committee.

This report presents the findings of the Citizens' Task Force on Canada Geese, Rockland County, New York, that met during 1994. The task force was organized by members of Rockland County's government for the purpose of thoroughly researching the issue and evaluating non-lethal ways to address the concerns of those complaining about geese. The report is one of the most comprehensive works on non-lethal methods of goose dissuasion in print. The report recommended that these methods be used to reduce or eliminate conflicts with geese in Rockland County.

Shortly after being issued, the report won an award from the New York State Association of Environmental Management Councils.
